My name is Bacca, and I'm excited to join this community! I'm an engineering student with a strong passion for fixing and tinkering with old electronics. Up until now, my repair efforts have mostly been focused on fixing and restoring (and occasionally modding) vintage gaming consoles. However, I’ve always been fascinated by analog audio, and now the occasion presented itself to me perfectly!. I recently picked up a couple of beautiful Walkmans: a Sony WM-D3 and a Sony WM-DD. from what I've read I'll probably have to replace the center gear, but that's a matter better discussed in the tech side of the forum. I've been lurking for some time, but some of the questions i have have not been posted yet, so i figured that joining was the best way to ask those. I'm looking forward to sharing with you all my repair experiences and hopefully the completed products, i hope that by the end of my journey I'll at least be a competent repairman. Thanks for having me! Cheers, Bacca
Welcome to the forum! I used to be surprised back in the old days when my fellow engineering students didn't have hobbies like cars or audio where you wanted to either fix something or know how it was put together. I was born with a screwdriver and remember being around nine and trying to fix a Sony Portable Mini-TV. It was so much fun to look inside of the appliances that gave us so much joy, except when they quit working.
