Nothing to show off in my introduction post—I collect film cameras from roughly this time period, but I don't have any cool boomboxes. My name's Dan; I found this forum tonight because I was watching this 80-minute Japanese commercial compilation and decided to impulse-Google the Toshiba RT-2800. I love old Japanese electronics, so I'm looking forward to browsing through the posts on here and seeing some cool stuff I've never heard of before.
Wow, that video was a geat find! So many cool products. I'm with you on the old stuff, I've picked up some really cool gadgets over the years that people are practically giving away. I remember when I was a kid cameras were going for several hundred dollars and unobtainium for me, now I see them for a few dollars with a whole bunch of lenses. Feel free to post any of your stuff, I might add to your thread.
Now my YouTube is recommending a bunch of cool Japanese Electronics Product Videos, pretty cool. That Toshiba is a nice unit, in the 70's taping sounds was the rage, listening and taping birds was also pretty big.
