Bought this beauty today for cheap in mint condition with the leather case. Its not working sadly, there is no output signal and it makes some trange noises when runnig (it still runs even after pressing pause/play, the only way to fully turn it off is by pulling the battery tray). But still, very glad i‘ve got it. Does someone have experience with this model, with repairs etc.?

I got some advice on reddit allready, i think the CX20084 was fried with an wrong ac adapter.

edit: i have a mint dd11 as well, i could use it as a donor for the d6c, but i dont know if its worth it to destroy a fine working dd11 to rescue the d6c.

Sounds like the device was powered with reverse polarity and likely both the CX20084 IC and the DC-DC converter have failed.
The DC-DC boost converter provides the 11.8V that powers the audio circuits, so you will have no audio if it doesn't work.
It can be repaired, there is a tutorial available.

Apart from this, a full service is recommended: new rubber, re-lubrication of the mechanism, adjustments, calibration and de-potting or replacing the 3 hybrid modules.

Don't think it's worth using the DD11 as a donor if it's in mint condition, I'd rather search for a DD in poor condition as the genuine IC by itself is nearly impossible to find as of 2023.
