    Hi

    quick introduction as per rules.

I’ve always been a fan of Panasonic Walkman, owning a few of the SX models the 32,52 & 56 bit of a noob when it comes to Walkman history and repairs. However am an expert on another Panasonic product the Technics Sl1200 turntable Mk1 - MKG2 owning every model and repairing them over the years, and a rare fan of their competitor the Gemini turntables from the DD10 to the PT2400.

Welcome! I love Technics TT's, great solid running machines but the elusive 1200 had never crossed my path. I was close, my buddy gave his dual DJ set to another friend but that guy just went and sold them for big money.

Yes they go for about £400 these day, in fairly poor condition too. Of the modern versions, the MK7 in all its various forms isn’t a patch on the original models, the newer GR is pretty good and in some away better for a causal listener than the MK2-6 and with the launch of the new GR2 their used values have taken a nose dive so you can get a excellent condition 1200 /1210 GR that’s 3-4 years old for £6-700 RRP was £1300 in 2021.
