This cd boombox used as a dedicated cd player using the line out option and recapped and optimized signal path makes it a giant killer with it's unique power supply and the tda1541 in real non oversampling mode and even a CDM2 drive . I use a Muses02 for I/U conversion and OPA2134 for output buffering. Panasonic fc for decoupling psu and silmicII in audio signal path. Som cheap Van Damme silverplated signal cable and that's it! I have several expensive players stored in a closet but that's just me having difficulties selling them. I have bought two d8884 and two d8880 and maybe I'll buy more of them. Don't buy the late CDM4/ Yamaha dac version since it's not as good as the first production model that has all the right main components.
