I'm trying to find some good ads in this Dutch Newspaper from Aruba but they're either smeared with ink or not interesting. This one does have the awesome GF-515 from 1983, if I'm doing my calculations correct, 799 Guilders = $277 USD or $173 USD ($577 today) on sale, not a bad price for a higher end boombox.

From 1971, Sony was really starting to push compact cassette players. USD.

From 1983, just some pricing. The Walkman 7 was still big money and Sanyo was coming on big in the lower cost market (which I belonged to). The JVC DC-7 makes a showing, just a monster of a boombox with a horizotal TT. Portable, yes, but man they weigh a ton.

Finally some LaSonics, Fuji 1992, wonder how much the TRC-931 retailed for?

1981, I'm guessing soft-touch was pretty new for a boombox?

This is wild, GE had a radio called the "Searcher" just like Sharp and at about the same exact time!

Interesting to see the price of the Sony wm-4 in dollars. I thinking remember paying £50 over here in the UK. Mine is still going strong after 40 odd years.

They must have felt the pinch from all the Sanyo Sportsters that were around $40 USD and decent quality.

One of the first BBX lines from GE was called Monogram, I think this was a higher end series?
