has anyone ever changed all the belts on a Sony cfs-88? how do you get to the flat belt? and the outside square belt seems very long, where would I get a replacement? I have read the tape deck is the same as Sony cfs-99. the unit seems to play a tape ok but one speaker plays the correct side, whereas the other speaker seems to be playing the rear side of the cassette but in reverse! could the head be out of alinement?
It sounds like it, there may be an adjustment screw somewhere at the bottom of the head, there might be more information in some of the tech articles I've posted in this section, unfortunately I've never changed that alignment before.
