Nice box, Börny. Those have a fantastic sound, I have one but I've sort of lost interest in it after the handle broke. There's one of the variants (can't remember what model it is, it has round grilles and is all silver) that I've got my eye on. There is an almost mint one local to me for sale for £15, which has been there for a few years. I'm considering taking it home with me when I create more space... Smile
That certainly looks like it, Börny. But I'm pretty sure the one I know has more controls next to the LED meter rather than the big space. They made 2 models which look like this. My mind has refreshed, the one I know is the D8623. Do you have a D8614 or D8623? If so, how do they sound compared with the D8634?

I have noticed a lot of people refer to the Philips D8634 as the D8634 MkII - there is no D8634 MkI as I'm aware. The MkII refers to 'SoundMachine MkII'. The 'SoundMachine MKI' is the D8534 SoundMachine 3-piece box. Some useless info... Big Grin
Yes i have some D8614´s and they sound equal 2 the D8634 MK II Smile.

You are correct that there is no D8634 Confused.

I did some research on the net and it looks like the D8623 and D8614 are the same , maybe some difference on the tuner ?

Let´s see what info *TPR* has about this .
Thx guys , yes this is a great sounding Philips .

You can turn the bass up 2 max and crank it up and it will not distort (till u push the LOUDNESS button, but u wont need it for rich sound )
The Stereo adjustment is a well done Philips feature that can give you a stereopanorama when turned 2 max you wont believe it . Make a test yourself, play a tune you know very well , turn the stereoknob 2 the right and close your eyes while listening .
Compared 2 my other Phili´s this is Nr. 3 in soundquality behind the Nr.2 Philips D8534 and Nr.1 the Philips D8778 .

When you can get one , get it !
