Hello everybody!I am new on this forum and I have a problem with my recent acquisition.My Walkman worked fine when I got it,it just needed a belt(I haven't ordered it),but now the spindle moves a bit then when it tries to stop,the spindle goes in reverse instead of engaging the auto reverse and stoping.What can I do?I will upload a photos of it.
P.S.:Also the tape got stuck inside.
Nobody can answer my question?If not I might try myself again to see what's going on in there.
Uh, maybe the belt is too tight? Is it going autoreverse back and forth non-stop?
Don't fully understand what you're saying, but it seems like you're describing a mode select issue in the mechanism (mechanism won't go into the correct position, doesn't obey the right commands). If your pinch rollers are shot or your belt is out of spec you'll also face issues. This version of the EX series won't release the tape head (and allow you top open the door) unless it's in Full Stop mode in the cam. (In Stop mode, pushing the door lock should release the head)
For logic mechanism issues:
Check solenoid plunger, then the mode select cam. You'll need to desolder the motor and solenoid connections to the board. I'm assuming you have the correct size belt, and your pinch rollers and tape stock are in good condition.
The motor points are marked UWVC, the solenoid is near your BATT - point (above that yellow DC jack box). You should also disconnect the head flex cable, and there seems to be a tape type switch near the solenoid and DC Jack as well.
You may need to replace the dried grease on the cam (which moves the heads up and down, pinch rollers, puts the unit in stop mode) and/or replace the solenoid.

Well back when I bought it and was working fine,the belt was quite loose,I needed to put my finger in order for it to play.But now it isn't slipping(maybe a little).Well I think I need to take the main board out and see what's wrong.Anyway....Thanks for the reply!

Nope.The autoreverse doesn't even engage,the takeup spindle goes forward,then in reverse,forward again and then in reverse again and after that it stops.
@bub: All of the tape can get stuck if they are the models with the heads in the conventional layout. I have a EX668, FX615 and EX5 that have the same transport as the EX560. Even the famous EX90 and GX90 used the same mechanisms.
There are many models based on the EX1 mechanism. The EX90 and GX90 use their own mechanism.
Same mechanisms as in they have the covers for both capstans, which are extremely difficult to clean. The additional tape guides were later introduced on the EX1, which the EX90 and GX90 did not have.
Open them up and you'll see that while they share similarities, they're from a different family of mechanisms.

I saw that there are quite a few that have the same mechanism as my ex560.I personally prefer the one that I have in my fx43.
FX43 have a more basic mechanism with no auto stop for fast forward and fast rewind but I can see some people prefer those mechanisms as they are easier to clean the capstans, as opposed to EX560 which have protective coverings.
If I can't fix it,how can I get the tape out?

if you can open the player, that is unscrew and remove the covers to gain access to the belt pulleys then maybe you can maybe rotate the pulleys until the head drops back so you can get your cassette out?

I've already done that and it did nothing.
If you fiddle around with the eject mechanism and bits around the sliding head block, something might happen. I can't remember, but there's a way to do it. Alternatively, take the PCB off and manually move the solenoid and cam.
