I was wondering if anyone here has any information on the Sony WM-GX688. I have seen it pop up a few times on eBay, but there's not a lot of information about it online as far as I can tell. All I can find is that it came out around the year 2000 or so. If you have any more idea on this model including quality of sound or recording and stuff like that, let me ( and everyone else here) know.
Don't expect much- I have variations on this model and sound quality is very average at best. Weak amps, plastic flywheels, fixed azimuth. Plus: Good battery life with AA pack, lots of electronic features, easy to change the belt.

UPDATE; In fact i have just managed to download the manual! I anyone wants it let me know your email via PM or here if it's just a "junkmail" account. Once open you'll need to click on the English bookmark on the left margin.
One cool thing I noticed about this model is that there is a "Hold" switch, and apparently I can even use it during recording, so one can record without worrying about pressing a button accidentally. Do other walkman (sony or not) models also have a "Hold" switch that works for both radio and tape?

I believe hold switches tend to disable all controls with the exception of some volume controls (rotary type usually).
with that particular unit all functions go to the remote so no mistakes while its in your pocket. thats what the hold button is for
