Anyone got one they want to give/sell/trade me?
I had one in 1986 - and would like a working one for sentimental reasons
I remember choosing it over the 102 - coz the quality was so much higher

I bet you like it because it has 2 headphone jacks and a 5 band graphic EQ. I don't have it but I have a Toshiba walkman that has 4 band EQ as well as only 1 headphone jack.
G'day Sir Badger ;-) I have a Black WM-60 in good condition and working. I need to test it tomorrow as its not been played in over a year. Will PM you with price if you are still interested. This is a pretty rare hard to find model. I bought mine 4 years ago out of Germany. Am in Florida USA.
good choice - I had one in 1986 as well. They're quite rare now & it took me a while to find another (for exactly the same reason as you). You won't be disappointed with it when you get one - good luck with the search...
iso, don't I have your WM60 somewhere?
LET ME KNOW!
thanks chaps
JE - I am in Texas
iso, don't I have your WM60 somewhere?
I bloody hope not, you little tea-leaf!
No, mine is safe & sound at home. I gave you a red Sanyo M-G80D, like the one on the left in this pic:
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was it, still got it.
I tell you what I have just found, anyone ever seen a blue WM-60?
nope
just send me a black one
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was it, still got it.

Arghh! He's done it again ! Count on my dear friend to have the only color I am missing
I have a black , silver and red...can't wait to see that blue!
Oh, you like this one huh? I've never been a lover of the WM-60 but I do like the rare colours.
So, here's a blue WM-60
Cris, you sure it's not just a silver one reflecting a blue sky...?

Cheeky git.
No, it's very blue.
if you get bored of it
send it my way

Aah, I didn't relaise it was your pic of your WM-60 until I clocked the background.
In that case, it's extremely cool.
...& we want some more pics
So, here's a blue WM-60
Nice !
I wonder why Sony opted for the sky blue variant(almost lighter than the EQ sliders) in their anodizing process when a nice deep blue would have been emphatic/mind blowing After years of hunting I did get myself a wm30 in blue with the only disappointment that the brochures made the blue look deeper than the real thing
c'mon someone sell me a working one for 50 quid
It is a highly overrated walkman!!
it is just plastic and even does not look that great!

why is it overrated? who did that?
I just want the walkman I had when I was young
It was only 60 quid when I bought it
and I bought a DC2 for 60 quid - so no way would I spend that much on a "lesser" walkman
i had one, and i rather did not like compared to other nicer walkmans
To be fair, the WM-60 isn't top drawer Sony. The DC2 etc. are in a different league.
However the transport isn't the cheapo plastic stuff (like the similarly specced WM-36), & the feature count was excellent for the money back in the mid 80s: Dolby, Auto-reverse 2 headphone sockets, 5 band EQ. The brushed metal casework makes it look more expensive too.
I agree, don't underestimate the WM-60. Not only was it the last walkman ever to feature twin headphone sockets but inside the cheap looking plastic case lurks a superb all-metal mechanism. I love the way that the auto-reverse mechanisms for each direction were completely different, very quirky. That said, the unit wasn't popular and Sony dropped it after a 6 month production run.

How does the auto reverse mechanism in this model works? Is it those ones that rotate or slide the tape head?
PS: The WM-60 isn't the last walkman to have twin headphone sockets, it is the WM-DD33 actually.

Oooh, I do believe your right
I believe there is one of these units currently on sale on eBay UK.
Low start price too!
nice thanks
