I recently bought this boombox from the Netherlands (I am in Canada) it uses 240 v but is rated for 110v /240v. my question for you people is, will I do better to use one of these volt conversion devices or will it be better to run a 120v 7 amp cord to it ? I looked at the back of this unit and there is no switch for conversion, just a place to plug in an ac cord so I am thinking it converts it self or the switch is in side thanks for helping me (p.s this is not my pic its from this site thanks again)

Mine is 220 volt only I believe. Dont think its a automatic switching power supply. But there is a 15 volt jack on the back.
Sorry, I know that this os an old post. But What did you do to remedy your issue? I just purchased a unit from Overseas, But I am in USA. Trying to find a compatible power supply..

As Michiel said, you can safely use the 15 volt jack on the back. Otherwise the bulletproof solution is to change the power supply.
Thanks. Are there any power supplies that are compatible for this box?

I don't know the Supertech Boombox but it might be worth looking inside to see if there are any alternative terminals on the transformer. They sometimes have two windings which can be put in series for 230v or parallel for 115 V
If not the only part of the power supply which will need changing in most boomboxes is the transformer itself.
I'm not sure how much knowledge you have about soldering etc. If it isn't much it would be best to get someone experienced to change it for you.
