DC2 has Line out. D3 has both Line in and out.
Very few walkmans have line in. Apart from the two bub mentions, there really aren't that many.
Don't forget the Panasonic RQ-J6 which was the only walkman to get RCA jacks
ok - thanks all -
anyone here have a working D3 for sale ?
I've never seen a working D3
I've never seen a working D3
not too encouraging
I've got a box of them. They all have the cracked main wheel issue but more annoyingly every D3 I've ever seen has a broken door release where the little tab required to secure the door open has worn itself useless. They just never seem worth fixing when you have another box of D2Cs & Boodo's requiring new wheels.
And to be fair Ira, if you really need a Sony pro unit with line in/out you really should be looking at a TC-D5 which are cheap at the moment.
thanks cris --i have the tc5 -- love it !!
was just looking to see if i could buy a good recorder/player even more compact
than the D6C
Interesting I thought I had seen some other old Panasonic's with RCA line outs so dug in the boxes and on top of the RQ-J6 the RS-J3 has RCA line outs. Also the Toshiba KT-R1 and KT-R2 have a switch making the mic inputs (std. jack) into AUX inputs although each is MONO input there is L and R jacks. So the R1 and R2 have line in.
LINK TO MY topic on TOSHIBA's. Cris I tried insert /edit link and it wont change link to Title.... am trying.

What's with this TC/WM-D3? Shouldn't this is known as a Walkman?
Yes, it is, but I don't know why it doesn't have the walkman logo. It's an interesting question, that I hope anyone knows the answer...
I do have two D3: one with logo and this one.
It should be TC-D3 because it is a cassette deck.
I've never seen a working D3
Like it funny but very true.
usa ebay often has a few that work WITHOUT the clicking gear --
they are usually very $$$ like US$200 plus -
for alot less than that - i have been lucky to win 2 that work well -
almost afraid to use them bc they are sure to develop that
gear sound
